Jalaaluddin School is a regional school specially designated for the north, as part of the government's efforts to establish quality secondary education in the north and south of the Maldives. The school is named after Sheikh Abdullah Jalaaluddin. The school was inaugurated on February 15, 1998, by the then President, Honorable Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. Initially, it was only a secondary school, but in 2002, higher secondary education was introduced. After functioning as a secondary and higher secondary school until the end of 2019, primary grades were introduced from January 2020, and now the school caters to students from grades 1 to 12.
