Introduction

Honourable Dr. Ismail Shafeeu is the current Minister of Education in the Maldives. With a Ph.D. from the University of Durham and a Master's Degree from the University of Malaya, he has played key roles in shaping the nation's educational landscape. From his early days as a Chemistry teacher to serving as the Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Ismail’s career is marked by a commitment to quality education and during his tenure as the Deputy Minister of Education he played a key role in education policy formulation. His contributions extend to the Higher Education as well, where he served as the Dean of the Islamic University Research Centre. A recipient of prestigious awards such as the Commonwealth Scholarship Award from Commonwealth Scholarship Commission/England (2015) and the Award of Scholastic Achievement from University Malaya/Malaysia (2011), Dr. Ismail brings a wealth of experience and innovation to his role, ensuring a transformative impact on education in the Maldives.
