Holhudhoo Rayyithunge Madharusa was the initial name given to Meyna School when it was founded on 13th Rajab 1366 (1st June 1947). After a decade, it became “Madharusathul Saqaafa” on 5th Zulqaidha 1376. Meyna School was renamed on August 12th, 1969 and has remained in existence until today. The school was changed as a government school on 1st August 1992.
To be the nation’s top school in the atolls, both academically and in discipline and to provide the best teaching and learning environment to produce good citizens, and to persist with the outstanding achievements of the long, bright history of the school.
To provide a safe, nurturing environment conducive to quality education and to mould the future generation of Holhudhoo and those students learning in the community in general, wherein, all the students have equal opportunity to obtain the skills necessary to achieve the goals of their choice and become responsible, productive citizens.
