Veyvashu makuthabu was the first educational foundation of the island. With great effort, the first building was completed in 23 months using limestone. The foundation stone was laid on 17th February 1983 by Mulak Atoll chief Un'gulu Moosa kaleyfaanu, and completed the work and inaugurated on 12th December 1984 by Honorable Al uzthaaz Abdullah Hameedh. Later the school was renamed to ""Veyvashu School"" from ""Veyvashu Makuthab"" The School currently offers classes up to grade 9. Since the academic year 2024-2025, this school has been offering combined stream of education to its students.
The vission of veyvashu school is to nurture the love for the religion and loyalty to the nation in students and explore the maximum capacity of the students in the ways of modern education resulting in responsible individuals who can serve the society and the country at large.
The mission of the school is to form student who are self confident and solve the challenges in life with productivity and courage. Also to foster a convenient learning environment to ignite the intellectual and critical thinking ability and to develop physical, social and intellectual competencies in students to serve their religion and nation.
