Minister Dr. Ismail Shafeeu has stated that there are no more honorable and respected individuals in the education system than teachers, and that no one upholds the dignity and honor of teachers more than teachers themselves.
The Minister made these remarks while speaking at a meeting with teachers from Thaajuddeen School and Hiriya School.
In his remarks, the Minister emphasized that within the education system, no group requires more care, compassion, and support than students. Therefore, the entire education framework and school environment should be designed to offer a safe, secure, nurturing, and inclusive setting for both teachers and students, with a strong emphasis on equality.
The Minister further noted that if all stakeholders work together in this spirit, the goals and successes envisioned for the education system will, God willing, be realized.
Expressing his appreciation to teachers, the Minister shared updates on key initiatives currently underway at the Ministry. He also addressed the challenges faced by teachers, particularly in relation to policy implementation, and discussed important issues concerning their mental well-being and professional development. Furthermore, the Minister invited teachers to contribute their ideas on policy execution, curriculum enhancement, and necessary steps to further strengthen the education system.
In addition to the Minister, the meeting was attended by State Minister Dr. Ahmed Mohamed, State Minister Hussain Saeed, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Shifaz Mohamed, Greater Malé Zone Coordinator Abdul Waliyyu Ali, and Ali Mufeed, Head of the School Administration Division.
