Minister Dr. Ismail Shafeeu has stated that teachers play a vital role in fulfilling a significant national responsibility with honor and dignity.
He made these remarks in a special message delivered on the occasion of this year’s International Teachers’ Day. In his message, he highlighted the noble nature of the teaching profession and the importance of standing firmly with teachers to safeguard the profession.
Minister Dr. Shafeeu emphasized the importance of recognizing the immense sacrifices made by teachers in nurturing an educated, skilled, and hardworking generation. He further noted that the government of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is undertaking extensive efforts to enhance the status and recognition of teachers and further develop the education sector.
“Significant efforts have been made to provide teachers with modern, professional training and to ensure that schools provide safe and positive environments that support the mental well-being of both teachers and students. I assure you that the Ministry will remain committed to strengthening and advancing these efforts,” Minister Dr. Ismail Shafeeu stated.
He further stated that, as teachers bear a significant responsibility in safeguarding students’ right to education, they must possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and professional ethics to effectively carry out their duties. He also encouraged teachers to keep pace with modern developments and technological advancements.
Minister Dr. Shafeeu noted that every teacher should strive to nurture responsible, well-mannered students who are prepared for life by fostering a love for learning and ensuring inclusive education for all.
Furthermore, he expressed his hope that teachers would continue to hold a special place of honor and respect in the hearts of students and parents. He also called for greater cooperation in ensuring that teaching is recognized as a noble profession and receives the respect and recognition it rightfully deserves.
