Ihavandhoo School, located on Ihavandhoo Island in Haa Alif Atoll, Maldives, was officially established on May 25, 1969, originally named Maktab Noor. Historical accounts suggest it operated earlier under different names, including Ihavandhoo Madharusaa until 2003. Initially a community school, it became state-owned in 2005. Over the years, it expanded its offerings from grade 5 to include O’Level examinations by 2002 and A’ Level courses by 2004, ultimately upgrading to a Higher Secondary School. In 2016, a preschool program was introduced. Today, Ihavandhoo School is recognized for its strong academic performance, particularly in IGCSE/GCE examinations, and for its innovative extracurricular activities, establishing itself as a leading educational institution in the Maldives.
