The Baa Atoll Education Centre (BAEC) holds a significant place in Maldivian education. Established in 1978, it was the first government school built outside the capital, Malé. Founded in collaboration with UNICEF, BAEC has grown from a small institution with just a handful of students and teachers to a comprehensive school serving over a thousand students. It offers a complete educational experience, providing primary, secondary, and higher secondary education.
• To prepare well-rounded students who will become successful and responsible citizens. • To provide a warm, welcoming, secure and healthy learning environment for all children. • To encourage independent thinking and learning, with an Islamic ethos. • To build a collaborative partnership with parents and the local community. • To encourage and enable the continuous professional development of all staff.
We aim to provide an integrated learning opportunity that develops independent thinking, promotes self-discipline and excellence, enabling all students to experience success within a caring Islamic environment.
