School Introduction

Lh. Atoll School, established with support from the Japanese government, is a source of pride for the Lh. Kurendhoo community and symbolizes the strong ties between the Maldives and Japan. The foundation stone was laid by Mr. Kullavah Ibrahim Didi, the former atoll head of Fadippolhu, on February 13, 1983. The school officially opened on March 9, 1984. with the Japanese Councilor Mr. Kujino inaugurating the event at the request of the Ministry of Education.Initially, the school enrolled 87 students and was known as Makthab Najeebul Habasee, the first educational institute in Kurendhoo.
