The first name used for this school was Makthabul Varudhaa. Later, the name was reformed to Omadhoo Makthab and then to Omadhoo Madharusaa. Currently, it is identified as Omadhoo School. The course of how the school was founded as per shown in records are mentioned below. In 1948, the government began educating the children in A.Dh.Omadhoo. This was established in the current location of the house “Kulhibalaage”, in where the Mauloodhu Haruge was. Later, when the establishment was decaying and unable to be educated in, a house at the east side of “Dhilkushaage” was used instead for about six months. This was an uninhabited house named as “Eesaage”, which was owned by a private person and was built of wood and thatch. Per the direction of the government, a new established was constructed under the leadership of the chiefs of the island and was first taught in 1950.This was on a property on the west side of “Kaneeruge”. The land was of 37 feet and 29 feet. 1950 was the year in which the school was first registered and taught.A new building as A.Dh.Omadhoo School with 3 classrooms and an office was opened in 15th July 1990 with the aid provided by the government and with the assistance of the local people. This establishment is of 73 feet and 28 feet. It is located on the west side of Janavareemagu and at the south side of Ameeneemagu.
