Dhaandhoo School, established on 30th June 1980, began with four classrooms and three teachers, funded by the island's citizens. Initially located behind the island office, it was later relocated near the jetty in 1989, with the name changed to Dhaandhoo Madharusaa. The school introduced Grades 1 to 6, initially teaching all subjects in Dhivehi, with English instruction beginning in 1990.Grade 7 was introduced in 1999, and the school’s name was changed to Dhaandhoo School in 2007. The first batch of students sat for the O-Level exams in 2002, and Higher Secondary Education was introduced in the 2021-2022 academic year. Today, the school has 18 classrooms, a library, science lab, and a prayer room, offering education from LKG to Grade 11 in Science and Business streams. The school serves students from various islands and currently employs 53 staff.
