State Minister Dr. Abdul Lateef Mohamed has stated that introducing the concept of digital transformation to the education system is crucial to standardize the quality of education provided by all schools in the Maldives.
 
The State Minister made this statement during a presentation representing the Education Ministry at the Maldives 2.0 Digital Transformation Summit.
 
Dr. Abdul Latheef Mohamed noted that since the Maldives is not a contiguous country, there are differences in the digital skills of teachers in schools across different parts of the country, the resources used for teaching, and the infrastructure of schools.
 
Therefore, the State Minister said it is necessary to develop digital skills, provide resources for teaching all students equally according to the curriculum, establish smart devices in every school, facilitate adaptive learning, and enhance the ability to make data-driven decisions.

Maldives 2.0 is a program inaugurated under the special initiative of the President, with all state institutions working together to lead the Maldives towards revolutionary and reformative changes in the digital sphere. Maldives 2.0 is a project launched to lead the Maldives into a new digital era with the goal of providing fast, secure, and transparent services. This project aims to bring revolutionary changes to the way services are provided to citizens and how institutions are administratively operated through digital resources, with results targeted within the next 3 years.
