The school takes its name from Al-Faqeehul Haafiz Mohamed Jamaaluddinul Mah’lee, a renowned scholar whose legacy in education dates back to 1573 (981 H.). Jamaaluddin, also known as Vaadhoo Dhannakaleygefaanu, began his teaching at the old Masjid in Vaadhoo, marking the beginning of an enduring educational tradition. This rich legacy continued through the generations, and on March 8, 2016, the Ministry of Education officially renamed the school to Vaadhoo Jamaaluddin School to honor its historical and cultural significance.
Vaadhoo Jamaaluddin School upholds the Islamic tradition of great respect for knowledge and an open spirit of inquiry that encourages developing students innate creativity in learning academic programs to develop a healthy selfconcept leading which intend to serve the needs of modern world without sacrificing moral and spiritual values.
