At the ceremony marking the 92nd anniversary of the Ministry of Education, Minister Dr. Ismail Shafeeu expressed his gratitude to the staff for their dedication and hard work.
"We are reaching every school in every town, and even every home. Even though its not visible, our involvement in the students' learning activities is immense and essential," the Minister stated.
He also encouraged the employees to continue working together as a cohesive team to further enhance the education system.
The Ministry of Education was established in 1932 with the promulgation of the first constitution of the Maldives by Sultan Mohamed Shamsuddeen (III). However, historical records indicate that education had been officially established in the Dhivehi state long before that.
