MTCC Awarded Contract for Construction of New Meyna School Building

The contract for the construction of a new four-storey building for Meyna School in Noonu Atoll was officially awarded to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Tuesday, 22 July 2025.

The agreement signing ceremony was held in the presence of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during the ceremony held to meet the local residents of Holhudhoo. Minister of Education, Dr. Ismail Shafeeu, signed the agreement on behalf of the Government of Maldives, while (Retired Deputy Commissioner of Police) Mr. Ahmed Saudee, Managing Director of MTCC, signed on behalf of the company.

The new building will house 17 classrooms, an administrative block, a library, an audio-visual room, a prayer room, and a designated office space. The project also includes the development of a futsal ground.

Upon completion, Meyna School will operate as a consolidated single-campus institution, allowing all grade levels to be accommodated within one unified facility.

The project, valued at MVR 33.7 million, is scheduled to be completed within 480 days from the date of commencement.
