Beginning this academic year, the National Assessment for Learning Outcomes (NALO) will be implemented for students completing Key Stage 3. The assessment will be conducted in Mathematics, English, and Science during the first term, while the second term will include assessments in Dhivehi and Islam. This marks the first time that NALO will include an assessment in Islam.
NALO is a national program designed to evaluate the current state of the education system. It identifies both the strengths and areas for improvement within the National Curriculum as implemented in schools, with the ultimate aim of enhancing the quality of education delivered to students.
Students completing key stages are assessed through NALO every three years to ensure they have attained the required standards in Dhivehi, English, and Mathematics as outlined in the National Curriculum. Based on the findings, schools will make targeted changes to strengthen teaching and learning practices.
