This year’s Children’s Day will be marked with vibrant celebrations across the country. 

During a meeting with school principals held today, Minister Dr. Ismail Shafeeu emphasized the importance of making the day special for children. 

The Minister proposed schools to submit their ideas to hold a grand children’s evening, featuring the participation of all schools in a joint celebration. The Minister also advised principals to host special assemblies and school-level events that align with the Children’s Day theme—without disrupting academic hours.

Minister highlighted the importance of using the day to educate children about their rights, as well as the hopes and aspirations their parents, community, and the nation hold for them. He also urged schools to keep celebrations cost-effective to avoid placing additional financial pressure on families and teachers.

The Ministry will be coordinating with relevant authorities in the coming days to finalize arrangements. Further updates will be shared with the public as plans progress.
