MoE Attends a Conference on Foundational Learning

Delegates from the Ministry of Education has attended a conference  Accelerating Foundational Learning - Going Scale in South Asia. 

This Conference was held in Kathmandu, Nepal from 3-5 December 2024. 

This three-day meeting was organized by the World Bank, UNICEF, and Nepal's Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST). The main objective of this meeting is to facilitate the sharing of information, technical experience, and capacity building among South Asian countries regarding extensive and important work done to promote foundational learning (basic literacy, numeracy, and socio-emotional learning.)

This conference provides a valuable opportunity for teams from different countries to present their experiences and information, and for countries to learn from each other about successful and evidence-based efforts to strengthen foundational education. The academy will help identify important steps and country-specific actions to improve foundational learning outcomes based on good practices and experiences. 
The delegation participating in this conference from the Maldives includes Deputy Minister Aminath Mariya, Director General Mariyam Nasir, and Head of School Administration Division Ali Mueed. Additionally, Aishath Sama, Senior Curriculum Development Analyst from the National Institute of Education, and Maziyya Mohamed, Leading Teacher from Huravee School, are also part of the delegation.
