Education is not a competition or a race!

Speaking at the special assembly held at the Center for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in Malé today, the Minister of Education Dr. Ismail Shafeeu has emphasized the importance of prioritizing collaboration over competition.

In his address, the Minister emphasized that while sports often see one team outshine another to claim first place, education is not about comparing schools or putting down peers. “Unlike sports, where winners and losers are clearly defined, education offers every student the opportunity to achieve success,” he stated. 

The Minister encouraged students to support one another in their academic journeys and stressed the value of collaboration, mutual respect, and shared growth.

The Minister also stressed the importance of creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. He noted that students face a variety of personal and academic challenges, and said it is essential for schools, teachers, parents, and communities to work together to support them. 

He also emphasized the importance of staying informed about global trends, technological advancements, and d the evolving challenges confronting students today.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Shafeeu praised A-Level students for their hard work and potential. He said they represent some of the most capable learners in the Maldives and expressed confidence in their ability to play a key role in shaping the future of the country.
