Teachers from 15 schools participate in 'Fehi Madharusa' workshop

National Institute of Education (NIE) - The Ministry of Education and Soneva Namoona has jointly conducted a two-day 'Fehi Madharusa' Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop for 42 teachers from 15 schools in B. Atoll and N. Atoll. The workshop was held on April 20 and 21 in B. Dharavandhoo.

The main objective of this workshop was to provide the information and skills needed to implement the Green School framework, which has been prepared for sustainable environmental practices.
 
With the addition of 15 new schools through this workshop, the Fehi Madharusa programme has now expanded to a total of 62 schools nationwide. The newly participating schools are from the island of B. Goidhoo, B. Fehendhoo, B. Hithaadhoo, B. Thulhaadhoo, B. Eydhafushi, B. Maalhos, B. Dharavandhoo, B. Dhonfanu, B. Kihaadhoo, B. Kamadhoo, B. Kudarikilu, B. Kendhoo, N. Magoodhoo, N. Lhohi, and N. Kudafari.

The TOT sessions featured interactive workshops, peer learning opportunities, and practical exercises focused on environmental action planning, eco-literacy integration, and community involvement. Teachers shared best practices and worked on tailoring the Fehi Madharusa milestones to their specific school contexts.
 
The workshop was conducted under the World Bank-funded Atoll Education Development Project.
